Title: Nura Oceans: Marine Biodiversity and Coastal Ecology
Published by: Nura Press | ISBN by: ECOR Foundation & BCCRI
The ECOR Foundation and BCCRI are pleased to announce a Call for Papers for the inaugural volume of the Nura Nature Book Series titled “Marine Biodiversity and Coastal Ecology.” This peer-reviewed ISBN book aims to bring together original scientific contributions that explore the vast diversity of marine life and the intricate ecological dynamics of coastal ecosystems. We invite scholars, researchers, scientists, and practitioners working across marine biology, environmental sciences, and coastal management to contribute their work to this upcoming volume.
The book will cover a wide range of topics under five broad themes: Marine Biodiversity, focusing on species richness in coral reefs, mangroves, seagrasses, marine invertebrates, and microbial diversity; Coastal Ecology, addressing habitat degradation, estuarine and intertidal dynamics, and ecosystem restoration; Climate and Environmental Change, including impacts such as ocean warming, acidification, sea level rise, pollution, and adaptation strategies; Fisheries and Marine Resource Management, exploring sustainable aquaculture, biodiversity in fisheries, and traditional ecological knowledge; and Policy, Education & Innovation, featuring discussions on marine protected areas, community-led conservation, and technological innovations in marine biodiversity monitoring. Contributions beyond these themes are also welcome if they align with the broader focus of marine and coastal research.
We welcome a diverse range of scholarly work including original research articles, review papers, short communications, case studies, policy perspectives, and even visual essays or high-resolution photographic studies with scientific narration. Manuscripts should be written in English, formatted in Vancouver referencing style, and range between 3,000 to 8,000 words including references, tables, and figures. High-quality images (minimum 300 dpi) must be embedded in the manuscript and also sent as separate files. The abstract should be 205–300 words and include five structured components: Introduction, Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusion. Please include 4–5 keywords separated by commas.
The call opens on August 10, 2025. The deadline for abstract submission is September 10, 2025, and the final paper submission deadline is September 30, 2025. Submitted manuscripts will undergo double-blind peer review, with initial feedback provided within 5 to 10 days of submission. Final acceptance decisions will be communicated within 20 to 30 days, followed by proofreading within 2 days of acceptance. Authors of accepted papers are required to complete the Article Processing Charge (APC) payment of ₹700 INR within 3 days of receiving the acceptance letter. This fee covers peer review, editing, formatting, and open-access distribution. The book is scheduled for publication in November or December 2025.
